Who we are: GTL is the industry training organisation for the glass and related sector. We work to encourage skills and cultivate the sharing of best practice by forging relationships with the key stakeholders in our industry.
The importance of what we do: Great emphasis is now being placed on companies, both by the Government and Trade Unions, to invest in the continued learning and development of their workforces as a way of improving standards and competitiveness. Using our two decades of experience within the glass sector, we have an understanding of the issues companies face and we can work with them to provide solutions.
Our mission and vision: Our mission is to create a sector development platform to improve competitiveness, increase productivity and provide greater opportunities for all.
Our vision is of a glass industry which gives every employee a choice of learning pathways and qualifications to be able to achieve their full potential. We aim to develop a fully integrated workforce in order to improve quality and performance.

We are a non-profit organisation owned by the glass industry and any profits are reinvested in the development of the glass industry. Our interests are in helping companies in the way that is most relevant to them, not forcing companies to take meaningless training courses just to line our own pockets.commitment
We are on-hand whenever you need support and guidance, whether you just need a chat on the phone or would like one of our advisors to come and visit you. We have worked with many companies over a long period of time - helping new starters through their introduction to the glass industry, nurturing managers and helping the company respond to new legislation.We regularly organise sector meetings and hold a biennial conference in order to bring all employers together to provide a forum and platform for sharing best practice, raising concerns and formulating plans for the future that benefit all.
Our advisors are on-hand via email or telephone to answer any queries from our members regarding all areas of their business and will collaborate with employers to ensure their businesses are reaching their full potential, providing support and guidance every step of the way.
Our membership boasts some of the largest names in the UK glass sector which is evidence of their commitment to quality and skills. We also work closely with leading training providers and skills bodies who have amassed countless years of experience and a vast wealth of knowledge.
